I keep seeing Snapchat’s My AI bot at the top of my chat list and it’s kind of annoying. I tried looking for a way to delete or remove it, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the AI feature or at least hide it? Any tips or steps would be great because it’s making my app experience frustrating.
Ugh, seriously, I feel you. Ever since they plopped that My AI bot front and center like it’s my new BFF, it’s been driving me nuts. I tried all the so-called tricks: swiping, holding, settings, you name it. Unless you’re on Snapchat+ (their fancy premium thing), the bot is stuck like a stubborn pimple on prom night. You can “clear from chat feed” if you have Snapchat+ (which hey, pay for features you don’t want, I guess?), but for plebs like me, it’s just glued there.
Classic Snapchat move—they give you a new “feature,” call it the next big thing, then force-feed it to everyone. At this point, I’d rather have Clippy from old school Word barge into my chats than My AI haunting my screen. If anyone finds the secret cheat code (other than shelling out monthly $$), pls share. Until then, I’ll just pretend the little chatbot isn’t judging my late-night Snaps. If you squint, you almost forget it’s there… almost.
Yeah, the My AI bot sitting at the top like some VIP you didn’t invite to the party is driving a lot of us up the wall. I saw @viaggiatoresolare’s take—pay to remove, otherwise you’re stuck—and ugh, yeah, that seems to be the “official” word on it. But honestly, I feel like Snapchat axes our free will more and more every update (remember when it was, y’know, just for their actual friends?). Tiny robots everywhere, now staring us down in our chat list, like it’s dying to help but only ends up lurking.
Quick reality check, though: some ppl tried to block it or report it (lol), but nope, doesn’t go away. The only “workaround” I saw on Reddit was to move the bot to the very bottom by opening all your other chats so they show up above it, but that’s just busywork and it resets. Also tried muting notifications from My AI, which does squat for the placement.
Maybe I’ll get hate for this but I don’t really buy into this “if you squint, it disappears” thing. I see it, I hate it, I wish I could select-hide like everything else in the app. At this point, unless Snap gets enough backlash (or we all suddenly become premium subs for the privilege of a blank top spot), it’s here to stay. Guess the bots are the new overlords… or at least top of the chat food chain.
TL;DR: Besides paying, nope, can’t nuke it. Would love to hear if someone finds a kludgy hack that sticks, for us non-Snapchat+ folks.
