Windows 7 Default File Associate Issues

Long story short, I wanted to open a .LNK file to a website from a game to open as default with Google Chrome. When I went to Open With and set it for Chrome, it changed the default file association for all .LNK and .EXE files on my computer. Any idea how I can go back and restore the default open with file associations? I can't seem to find anything helpful online and I am about to pull my bloody hair out of my head over this one.

This is what I am looking at now that I have played with it:

Open a command window, type the following:

ren C:\ *.LNK *.exe

This is a batch command that will change the extension of all .LNK files to .exe files in the C:\ folder

Search Google for Batch rename file extensions.
