OCZ Agility SSD Contest

Win a FREE OCZ Agility Solid State Drive

Benchmark Reviews recently reviewed the OCZ Agility MLC SSD, and decided that this would be the perfect product to introduce one lucky BmR visitor into the ultra-fast world of Solid State Drives. The Agility is identical to the popular OCZ Vertex SSD in every aspect except NAND selection, plus the Agility SSD series offers the same Indilinx 'Barefoot' controller and 64MB of DRAM buffer allowing a fast 230 MBps read speed. Enter this random drawing and win a free OCZ Agility 60GB SSD from Benchmark Reviews!

Contest Rules:

All that is required to enter this contest is a valid shipping address in continental US, and a single post in this thread answering one question: In your opinion, what is the best retail Solid State Drive available?

The contest winner will be randomly selected, and notified by e-mail on August 2nd. If the prize is not claimed by the winner within 24 hours, a new winner will be selected and notified. Good luck!

The OCZ Agility 60GB is it for me.
  • It's big enough to support any OS as a boot drive
  • It hits the sweet spot on the capacity/price/performance curve
  • I can afford it
  • OCZ has the best public support forum

Ocz Ssd

The OCZ SSD is my next purchase after the new 24" monitor!!

Prices are down to a point where I can swing it, and not feel guilty about buying!

I'm going to say it's the OCZ Vertex 120 GB drive. I may be biased since I own it but I picked this drive because it had the best price/performance/capacity combination at the time I purchased it (still excellent) and OCZ appears to be a company that is going full force into the SSD market. The support they provide to their SSD customers is outstanding and they offer updated firmware for their drives in a timely manner.

Right now the Agility is right at my "sweet spot".... under $200 for a 60gb SSD. When Intel releases it's next gen SSD's hopefully prices will drop even further, and perhaps OCZ will make a TRIM utility available fairly soon for Win 7.

I have to say the OCZ Vertex series, even though it uses the slower MLC memory, it is still much faster than most hard drives and is very affordable compared to other high-end SSD drives.

Also, my favorite online hardware vendor is filled with users reporting good experiences with the vertex series

I would go with a something in the 120gb range. That is large enough for a good system drive and it gives you room to keep a bunch of games on there as well. You can get a 120gb SSD for low $300s. The OZC Agility 120gb would be on my list of drives to consider if I was shopping for a good SSD.

I am going to have to go with the Gskill 128 gb ssd. These drives have speed, reliability and compatibility. I have two in two different systems with no issues.

This drive seems to be the best SSD for the price by far. It is basically a rebranded Vertex at a cheaper price, and it's great to see OCZ replacing their Core and Solid series with it.
