Buying Laptop Processor (Dell Inspiron 1501)

A friend of mine has a 2007 Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 1.8 GHz. I was wanting to see if anyone possibly has a slightly better processor for a laptop, preferrably 2.2-2.4 GHz, dual core or core 2.

If anyone has any better processors and would like to sell it, post what model it is and the asking price for it. I will be more than happy to relay the prices.

Also considering possible trade-in for discount on better model computer, any suggestions?

You do realize that it isn't that simple, don't you?

You can't put a Core2 CPU on an AMD motherboard.

Doesn't matter if it is a desktop or laptop. You can't put an Intel CPU on an AMD board. Then there is the compatibility of the new CPU to the motherboard.

Perhaps it's not the right place to look for such deals. I suggest you hit ebay

ps. i have a Dell 1501 and although it's not that fast by today's standards, i still use and plan to keep for for a while.
