A lot of ppl has been asking me how to do it and i googled it and found nobody actually posted on how to do it...

U can do it only with forceware 163.67 and above

I advise ppl to download and use ati tools with riva tuner 2.04

Basically there is a shader ratio and it would be ure shader clock divided by ure core clock. Currently with the new forceware nvidia has allowed driver overclocking for the shader via ratios.

Remember that all G8x shader clock increase is by 54mhz. This is fix as far as i know.

For windows XP there is u need to go to power users
and under \system\NVAPIUsageBehaviour ... add a value 1 (ps u dont need to press ok after this)

for vista and xp now
under \Riva Tuner\NVIDIA\Overclocking\ShaderClock Ratio ( Ps again u dont need to press ok after this)
u set the desired value

i am going to give an example of a Asus 8600gts Silent which has a
Core Clock = 675
Shader Clock = 1458
Mem Clock = 1008

The ratio here is 1458/675= 2.16
Shader Clock Table would be
1458,1512,1566,1620,1674,1728 and so on...
ratio would be with core clock 675
2.16,2.24,2.32,2.4,2.48,2.56 and so on
set the desired ratio... for the max i found my card is 2.4 with shader clock 1620

take note.. shader clock will only increase with 3d clock overclocking and only with riva tuner.

go to the Main Tab on target adapter .. customize..hardware monitoring.
Leave this on the whole time.
U will see the ure default core clock, shader clock, mem clock, temps and so on.

go to the Main Tab on driver setting customize ...system settings
click enable driver-level hardware overclocking and go to the performance 3d bit
just slide the core clock less and press apply and then press defaults after that.... u would notice in the hardware monitoring that ure core and mem clock didnt change.. only ure shader clock.

the reason is we want to find the best stable shader clock...
run ati tools and run scan artifact..
usually i would run for 1 hour.

after u have done this.
go back and change the shader clock to -1. This would stop the shader clock from increasing
use ati tools to find max core.. .get the no.. my example 720
then the max mem... my example 1080

so my stable is 720/1620/1080
now to change the shader ratio and overclock the cards to this setting
1620/720=2.25
then change the 3d performance overclock
core = 720
mem = 1080

run ati tools artifact scanning

i ran it for 6 hours give or take

after this u can flash ure bios with this. for that u can google online and olin also has a guide for that..

*PS sorry for the rough steps guide.
