Community Builder

Folks,

I'm working on a couple of projects, one near completion and another just in the design stages. Both require an extensive member database with many more features than that of the base J! install. Perfect, I've read some of Community Builder but haven't really played much with it until now.

Ahh, how blissful ignorance is. Functionality is quite good, but customization is painful. The code is quite messy, and the CSS is just confusing. Has anyone come across an alternative to it?

You mean aside from vBulletin (which isn't what I'm recommending, just referring to)? I might suggest jCommunity from Joobi, which is built to integrate with Joomla (which I presume is the point of using Community Builder in the first place).

Looks like a possibility. I'll have to toss up another dev site to try it out.
