Hi,

I am going to buy next week new memory stick to my PC.
But I am not 100% sure on the model.
my choises are the new G.Skill series PI 2X2024 DDR2 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.0 BPI
and the Mushkin PC 8000 2X2024 1000Mhz 5-5-5-12 2.1 XP Redline

I know that the Redline is the high end memory from muskin but those shiny G.Skill sinks are appealing.

I will like to get a second opinion and I think this is the best forum to ask.

BTW my rig: Q6600, ASUS P5K-E/WIFI 8800GT 512MB Leadtek

Cheers

Hi, haimomer

I have 2 x 1GB of G.SKILL PC6400 (DDR2 800) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098) in my new system and I'm very impressed with it. Installed without a hitch on my Gigabyte P35-DS4 (rev2.1). I was even thinking of upgrading to some G.SKILL DDR2 1066 (PC8500).

This is not the memory I am talking about, I am talking about the PI series.

You wanted opinions and I was giving you mine. The RAM may be different but it's from the same manufacturer.

I know and thanks for that, but I am looking for a 4GB set that can go over 1100Mhz, Not all the 4GB sets can even go over 1000Mhz

If they don't use Micron ICs, then they aren't going to overclock well. RAM heatsinks mean shit all.

Not true, the mushkin 2X2GB XP2 are not micron and do over 1100Mhz
there isnt any good 2X2GB set of micron quality chips

Fair enough, but I meant huge overclocks. Generic RAM can hit over 1100MHz too.

But my point still stands about the heatsinks. :)
