1: Black
2: Yes
3: Yes...top fans area must!
4: Mid-Tower
5: Would like to see someone design a case that the motherboard tray and window panel can be reveresed. Meaning that if the standard configuration has the window on the left and the MB tray on the right, but you want to swap the window to be on the left due to placement of your rig, it would be lame given you'd not see what's inside. If you could switch the MB tray to the opposite side, it would allow for more user flexibility.

1. What is you favorite color for a computer case? Black is always nice
2. Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window? I do like the window
3. Should the case include a top fan? yes, best spot for exhaust
4. What size computer case to you most prefer? mid-tower
5. What suggestion would you give NZXT? Change the location of the access ports i.e. the USB, mic and headphone jack, include eSATA and firewire. Move to the top of the case to make it more accessible than the lower side. this might just be me but no swinging from doors on the front I like easy access to the DVD drive.

Color: Black exterior AND interior
Window: Yes, but forget the precut fan holes on the window.
Top Fan: If it's not a 120 it doesn't do squat.
I'd prefer it did NOT have a fan hole on top.
Size: Full or Mid-Tower
Suggestion: Add decent filters for fans.
While I realize it isn't economically feasible, I do like whynot's thought process

2. Windowed.
3. Sure, why not?

Barring that, some sort of mechanism between the intake and exhaust to facilitate movement of intake air over cpu/chipsets/RAM (besides CPU HSF).

Black - keepin it simple :)
Windowed for sure, shows off my mess!
Yes, I want my case as cool as possible
Full tower - needs lots of room, and somtimes mid-towers just dont cut it.
Create a hybrid Mid/full tower case. One that can easily accomodate many hard drives, dual 9800 GX2's, bid CPU coolers, like the Tuniq tower and True 120, and have great airflow to boot. Something bigger then an antec 900, but not quite the size of a "my size barbie"

1st May 2008, 10:03 AM
1. Black brushed aluminum
2. Windows are great if they are a simple design
3. It should only have a 120mm grill, so I can put my own fan. The grill should also be put closer to the front of the case so large PSUs can be accomodated.
4. Full tower
5. Less lights, removable motherboard tray, and some sort of fan control mechanism

What is you favorite color for a computer case?
Black, I like the black because it's easier to clean and not easy to get dirty as those beige.
Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window?
I am okay either way.
Should the case include a top fan?
well, i personally don't like top fan because i feel that it allows dust to go in. If a case has top case fan, it should come with dust filter.
What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc)
mid-tower/full-tower.
What suggestion would you give NZXT?
more filter would be nice. Also, have the front panel poers covered.

1. Black.
2. Not a fan of case windows.
3. Top fans are cool.
4. Full-towers, the bigger the better
5. I live in a very dusty area, exposed ports tend to fill up with crap; putting some sort of covering over them would be ideal. (At least they aren't pointed skyward as I've seen on some cases.)

1. What is you favorite color for a computer case? Black
2. Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window? Windowed, but w/o pre-installed side fan or vents
3. Should the case include a top fan? Only if the cooling isn't sufficient w/o one
4. What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc) Mid-tower
5. What suggestion would you give NZXT? More modularity/customization options (e.g. faceplates, custom drivebay covers, side panels, etc.) This would make it easier for people who don't have time to do mods from scratch to personalize their cases. Also - always use a removable motherboard tray!

1) Black or Silver will do.
2) Windowless definately.
3) Yes, top fans are always good because heat rises!
4) These days, because GPU components are getting larger and emmitting more heat, I prefer full-towers.
5) My suggestions would be to include all fans that the case allows for, or requires, and all should be filtered with removable/cleanable filters. Oh yeah, it's got to have at least one, if not two e-sata ports!

Please answer the following questions in your entry post:
What is you favorite color for a computer case?
Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window?
Should the case include a top fan?
What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc)
What suggestion would you give NZXT?
1. Glossy Black, as the base/primary color of the case.
2. Windowed side panel. (Actually, I like BOTH Windowed and non-windowed -- currently, my main box has NO side panel, and I love it! A windowed side panel just looks better, especially if you got top quality components inside + u get to show em off to everyone -- paying top $$ for parts and showing `em off via a window gets many comments from friends+family, which is a bonus in it's own right)
3. YES. IMHO, after going thru several cases over the last 18+ years of computing, I think a TOP fan with an easily-cleanable dust guard is a GREAT way to exhaust the excess heat that ends up getting "trapped" @ the top of the case, for cases designed with NO top fan... I could say a lot more to back-up my opinion here, but the answer YES should be sufficient for this post :D
4. Mid-tower. The PERFECT size!
5. In reviewing the NZXT line of cases via NewEgg and Froogle, I really dig the Lexa Black/Silver (http://www.nzxt.com/products/lexa/) & the NZXT Zero Black/Silver (http://www.nzxt.com/products/zero/) cases... I'd like to see a combination of the 2 designs made into a single case = with the side of the case configured like the NZXT Zero ala a block of 4 Quad 12cm fans, OR just go with one of my favorites, being a configuration consisting of one LARGE 200mm+ fan on the side (which IMHO keeps the GPU `n other cards cool, while not being loud, as the fan can spin at a slower speed because it's soo big). I'd definitely like to see an external SATA (e-SATA) port on the case, and I myself, perfer the audio and USB/IEEE 1394/e-SATA ports on the front of the case.
Oh yeah, one last suggestion = please, PLEASE provide us with a case that comes with ESA compatibility for someone on a budget :) Just add an ESA controller to get the chassis ESA ready, as I want to monitor AND tune fan speeds, ALL thermal + electrical and acoustic functions, at a decent price! I've never seen this last one, yet.... :D
BTW, the NZXT TEMPEST case looks AMAZING, I'd be in heaven with that bad-boy!
PS. Greetz to all! I'm new to the forums here, yet I've been reading benchmarkreviews.com (http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php) for quite some time now. Keep up the good work, and I love the basis for this contest - meaning, it's a good idea to have people reply via the forums to enter the contest... now that I'm a member, I'm sure I will re-vist these forums to check everything out --- just quickly perusing I'm seeing some very interesting posts! I feel somewhat rewarded already, heh!

2. Windowed.
3. Sure.
4. Midtower, as it fits my needs.
5. Try and get more attention from the public: reviews, contests, etc. I noticed you have been actively promoting the Tempest, and it does seem like a superb product. But unfortunately, a lot of people have never heard of the name NZXT before.
Thanks!

1. What is you favorite color for a computer case?
Definitely black -- don't mind a few colors but I also don't like to see the decorations get outta hand.
2. Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window?
Most of my cases have been non-windowed but I guess I wouldn't mind one -- I don't care much what it looks like as long as it performs well!
3. Should the case include a top fan?
If the air flow is already set up well I don't feel that a top fan's a necessity.
4. What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc)
I'm a mid-tower guy.
5. What suggestion would you give NZXT?
This is a tough one . . . I guess if I had to choose something I'd start by saying that I'm not a huge "bells-and-whistles" kind of guy. Most of the cases I see from NZXT seem to be gamer-oriented cases and it would be nice to see some more good quality "traditional" enclosures from them. I think there's one called the Adamas that stuck out in my mind (seemed sturdy, roomy, and well-ventilated). I know it's not necessarily their target user group but I think they might be able to continue to expand their user base with more variations on that kind of classic case.

1. Black
2. No window
3. yes
4. FULL Tower (A true FULL tower)
5. A large quiet cooling fan (25-30 cm) with a thin foam air filter that can be easily removed for cleaning. This fan and it's enclosure to be mounted on the exterior surface of the cases side panel, so as not to interfere with interior components. The fans enclosure would have a fan speed control knob installed at the rear, hopefully out of view and reach of any small children that might turn off your fan. This above idea could also be made as an aftermarket item since there is NOTHING like it on the market today. You can get 20-22 cm fans, but I haven't seen any with a filter, and most are designed to have the fan installed inside the case. Most cases just don't have enough room to have a fan of this size installed "inside" the case.
Mount the power supply high in the case to assist in the removal of warm air in the case. Some manufacturers put the power supply at the bottom, this pulls out the cool air.
As an accessory item, for those who have RAID systems, or multiple drives. An insert panel to replace a cd/dvd blank on the front of the case. This panel would have a HD light for every hard drive in the case and would show HD activity for each drive individually.

What is you favorite color for a computer case?Black or metallic looking
Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window? No window, but I won't not buy a case because it has a window.
Should the case include a top fan? Haven't had any cases with a top fan, but it makes sense to have one.
What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc) Mid to full tower
What suggestion would you give NZXT? Don't use cheap flimsy plastics (don't know if you do or not), make the drive bays easily accessible (tool-less, and easy to get to), and use quality fans. That's what I look for.

1. Black - Black & Silver
2. I prefer no window; my PC is on the floor and I don't really need to look inside.
3. A top fan is good; not a necessity IMO but it's nice.
4. It depends on the components; my current rig is a mid tower.
5. If a case includes a power supply, use a decent unit, not a 'throw away' 350w cheap unit. Included fans should be wired directly into the PSU so they don't use up connectors, or they should be wired together so they use only one molex connector with the wires hidden in the case; not dangling about...

What is you favorite color for a computer case?
An overall dominance of black and some secondary color or none at all.
Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window?
I like a window with a fan in it. My favorite type of side is the one the CM Stacker 830 has with its multiple fan bracket and mesh!
Should the case include a top fan?
Yes, heat rises and so you want a fan exhausting out all the heat out from the spot where heat will travel to... this is why I don't like my PSU on the top! (It discourages that type of fan placement usually).
What size computer case to you most prefer?
I generally like mid-tower cases, and expecially ones that have a removable motherboard!!!
What suggestion would you give NZXT?
This specific case... not to much, it focuses more on performance than looks and the looks aren't too bad!
Overall hints (none directed at other cases they make): Performance>Aesthetics, Cable routing would be nice, REMOVABLE MOTHERBOARD TRAYS ARE GODLY!!! That is all I cna think of... Happy designing of your next case!

Color: Black
Windowed: Mesh or with fan
Top fan: Yes
Size: Mid or Full-tower
Suggestion: more focus on performance and quality and less on youth-oriented looks (I would guess that most here would prefer a plainer box with good cooling and features than a box that is vanilla on the inside but looks like a Transformer)

color-black
side window-definitely
top fan-at least an opening for it
size-full tower for lots of room
suggestion-more 5.25 inch bays, less 3.5 inch.

1. Favorite color for a computer case, regular old black.
2. I do prefer no window usually, but the windows on your cases do look good.
3. I'd prefer a top fan if it would have an impact on the internal case temperature, not for looks.
4. I prefer mid-tower cases.
5. My suggestion would be to expand your HTPC case line, I would love to see more options for integrating a PC with my home theater.

Very nice case.
1. color-black
2. I prefer a window
3. yes 1 top fan minimum 2 would be nice.
4. Mid-tower
5. Filters easy to clean, Leds maybe a case with RED most are always blue, it's hard to find a case with red led fans included.
I know being in india makes me disqualify but i would still submit my entry not to win but for fun.

1. What is you favorite color for a computer case? - Silver, black is too depressing.
2. Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window? - No window.
3. Should the case include a top fan? - In general, No - there is little evidence that they do much for cooling assuming an existing 120mm rear fan, but one may serve well as the sole exhaust fan in a case like the Nine Hundred located at the far rear of the top panel with a bottom mounted PSU, but putting it near the top of the rear panel would probably be better than on top.
4. What size computer case do you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc) - The Rocketfish Full Tower is too large for me, the Mystique 631 too small. My current box is the Silverstone Kublai KL03 and it's about right for me. But I'm not fixated about it.
5. What suggestion would you give NZXT? - Pile on the functionality, eschew the bling. It's OK for things to look like what they do rather than being blended into some overall appearance scheme. For example, the front fan on the Kublai series. The mesh cover on the front of the Kublai series front fan holders makes them look like the rest of the front panel, but it really restricts the fan - and it doesn't look bad at all with the mesh totally removed or with a real filter assembly instead of the mesh's feaux filter functionality. Another example, the top bezel on the C-M 690 causes exhaust blow-back into the case from the top fan(s) - looks good, breathes poorly.

1. Black
2. No Window
3. Yes
4. Mid-Tower
5. Fan controller would be nice too see. The ability to control the lights would also be nice (turn on/off, brighten/dim when desired). As everyone else has stated, filters are a big plus. No one wants a dusty or high maintenance case.

Thanks for the reminder email, I almost forgot about this awesome giveaway!
1. What is you favorite color for a computer case?
Black or Silver, black is better.
2. Do you prefer a windowed side panel or no window?
Windowed
3. Should the case include a top fan?
No
4. What size computer case to you most prefer?(ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc)
Mid or Full, Full preferred.
5. What suggestion would you give NZXT?
After looking at the case specs I can't tell if it has removable drive bays for the HDDs. This is something I look for in a case (every case I own has one, it's just too handy), so if a removable - or better yet a swing out - 5.25/HDD bay for easier access to cable ends is a huge plus in my opinion if it can be worked in to the design. Currently the design has the snap-in type setup for the 5.25 bays which I think is great, but the trouble I can see with the rest of the 5.25 design is that it isn't set up or pre-drilled for various 5.25 bay accessories such as card readers or fan controllers. While some of the fault lies with the designers of the 5.25 bay accessories, many are to flimsy or aren't large enough to reach many standard 5.25 bay mount points, it'd be nice to see more pre-drilled mount points in the case and perhaps have the snap-in mounts made removable so that if one opts for one of these accessories it would be easier to modify the case for them to work.
Also, as many others have mentioned, filters are a MUST; and as far as extras go - Dimmable or customizable LEDs would be great.

Im not entering but I will throw some suggestions out
1-Black (accs. in any color go with black)
2-Window, yes.
3-Fan no, Vent Yes (adding a side or top fan disturbs the front to back airflow. A vent can help to equalize pressure)
4-Mid, 5 CD Rom slots, remove the silly floppy slot. That will leave room for two 120mm fans and 2 Devices.
5-NZXT, take a look at my logs, my cases have superior airflow and are designed for modern hardware.

What size computer case to you most prefer? (ie. small form factor, mid-tower, full-tower, etc)
What suggestion would you give NZXT?
1.) Black
2.) Windowed Side Panel (I like to visually see fans spinning incase of failure)
3.) Yes, fan on top (Power supply on bottom)
4.) Mid-Tower
5.) With the advancement of Air-Cooling, a case with ample 120mm fan placements. Also, thought of cable management when desinging a case. Simple 2-3 built-in fan controllers would be nice.
