Ok, you're probably wondering how the hell I can call this a "Grand Opening" contest when we have been online for nearly one year...
...It's because Grand Opening Mega-Contest sounds a lot better than "First Anniversary New Host 100,000 Unique Visitor Back Online Contest".

But still, why is this a "Grand Opening"? Well, simply put, our move has been far from perfect. So much has changed within the websites architecture and server that it feels just like we started over from scratch. We have a new look, new server host, a new contest, and of course a few new problems. But by helping us, you can win:

Contest is open to forum members worldwide. If FedEx, UPS, or USPS can deliver to your address, you can enter. Taxes, customs, and/or fees are paid at your expense.
Site owners, news posters, Benchmark Reviews staff, whomever... you're all welcome to join this contest.
You must make one post in this thread to qualify as a participant. Your post must contain your top five prize choices in order of preference.
This contest ends April 1st, 2008. Five prize winners will be announced on this day.
Winners have until April 5th to claim their prize. Vacant prizes will be returned and new winner drawn from the remaining entries.So here's how it works:

By posting your prize choices in this thread, you'll be qualified for our random drawing prize. It's as simple as that. You can stop there, cross your fingers, and wait for April 1st. But why leave your chance of winning to a random drawing?

ROUND I - Benchmark Reviews has more than a few bugs in our site after the move, and several images have gone missing. You will receive an additional entry into the top prize drawing for each missing image or dead link you report. During the month of March there will be different opportunities to earn additional contest entries, but they will be fewer in number. The top entrants with the most qualified submissions on April 1st will get to choose their prize! Once you make a contest-entry post (here in this thread), you can report errors using this form for a chance to receive a bonus submission. Good luck!

EDIT: It is advised to report site errors immediately. If you wait several days to report a problem it is very possible for someone else to report it ahead of you and receive credit.

ROUND II - Now that Benchmark Reviews has been combed over and the broken links fixed (thank you all), it's time to get productive! Beginning now until March 24th, if you would like the opportunity to earn an extra 25 contest entries into the drawing, you'll need to sharpen-up your pencil and dust off the camera. Using as many words and images as you want, submit a technical review article (following the format below) of either your LCD monitor or HDTV and automatically earn 10 entries. Sound like a lot of work? Well, yes, it really is. But there's more to it: only the three most professionally written articles will become finalists, and each will receive a total of 25 bonus entries and have their article published.

Articles must be submitted to Benchmark Reviews before 24 March 2008 to be eligible for the final three public poll. All other articles must be received by 30 March 2008 to be considered for 10 automatic contest entries.
Review articles must contain one page consisting of the following elements:
Introduction - capture the readers interest and state your purpose
Closer Look - describe the product and use pictures
Evaluation - test the features and functionality
Conclusion - summarize your impression of the product and give a rating
All content submissions become the property of Benchmark Reviews.That's it... finally. I don't expect everyone to participate in the second round, and if we actually get three finalists that would be fantastic. For those who are interested however, this contest could be the starting point for a position with Benchmark Reviews! I am under a deadline for an upcoming review, plus the Gigabyte 9800 GX2 (http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=152&Itemid=1) review was keeping me busy. I should have them done tonight... there are five total.

Our judges are rating them prior to me doing additional editing. The reviews you see on our site have been cleaned up and in many cases the images are replaced with higher quality ones.

Just read the LG monitor review, looks to be a great monitor!

The "problem" with the screen dimming when dark scenes are displayed is actually a feature. That would be dynamic contrast :) It dims the monitors backlight in order to make the blacks blacker, which is also how the monitor achieves its 3000:1 contrast ratio.

Usually there is an option in the menu to turn off the dynamic contrast, so take a look and maybe you can fix it.

Benchmark Reviews began this contest to celebrate two things: our first year on the web, and surpassing the 100K visitor milestone (according to Google analytics). We are now rolling strong in our 13th month of operation with over 155K visitors in the past month... so we must be doing something right! Sweet I installed the 8800GT today and its awesome! A HUGE improvement over my old x800xl, and a million times quieter :o I can't hear my system anymore :D

Now I'm working on finding the max possible overclock heh. it was also a nice surprise to see this card overclocked out of the box (core is 660 vs 600 normal).
